Luciana Basile-Lewis is the Chef and co-owner of Che Buono Inc. In 2017, Luciana and her husband Jesse, shortly after they moved from Florida, they decided to start the first Italian food truck, (Che Buono, LLC) in effort to get familiar with the area and industry in Sacramento. Born in Modena, Italy (a city North of Italy, known for Balsamic vinegar and the Ferrari car) her passion for cooking both savory and sweet items, with a particular interest in creating her own recipes.
Featured on Good Day Sacramento and Sacramento Magazines, her dishes have earned great reviews for their food, service and attention to details.
Luciana is a self-taught chef, with a Master Certification in business and finance. The thirst for creating and exploring new dishes, keeps Luciana focused refining her culinary skills, and creating Italian contemporary savory and sweet dishes. She has also created the Che Buono Classic Marinara, Arrabbiata, Bolognese and Bianca, (white creamy) sauce, Piccante aioli and the All Purpose Rub. All unique, gourmet, fresh farm-to-fork, and exceptionally flavorful.
Jesse Lewis is the co-owner of Che Buono. Jesse comes from the power plant industry, managing operations, maintenance and safety compliance. His desire to manage Che Buono with his wife, and also to leave the corporate world, was to offer the invaluable support and much needed help to make the company grow. Jesse continues to support the business by taking over the most delicious wood-fired pizza and focaccia bread!
